Withdrawal

How it works:

The withdrawal method, also known as the pulling out method, relies on the penis being removed from the vagina and away from the vulva before ejaculation. In order for the withdrawal method to work, it is important that the penis is removed before any semen comes out. When used correctly every time during sex, it is about 96% effective at preventing pregnancy. But, about 22 in 100 women will get pregnant while using the withdrawal method when they don’t use it correctly every time during sex, reducing its effectiveness to 78%.
